Match Report: Menai Bridge 16 - 15 Denbigh 2nds

Kick off was delayed for an hour, due to local traffic difficulties that come with living on an island with two routes in and out.

Despite the delay Bridge were quickly out of the blocks when Dion McGrath slipped a pass from the back of his hand to winger Pat Roberts, who finished well in the corner for a try. Denbigh soon replied using their forward power; they camped in the Bridge 22 and scored a try from a drive by Jake Jones. Dion McGrath then slotted a penalty for a half time score of 8 to 5 for the hosts.

Denbigh started the second half brightly and a hack through on their left wing lead to a sprint for the line by Endaf Walller, who  raced through to touch down. Bridge then rolled up their sleeves and, for the first time in the match, achieved some continuity in their play. This lead to a  try for busy flanker Gerwyn Morris taking Bridge's lead to 13-10. Once again Denbigh fought back and replacement Callum Taylor barged over the line for a try. Bridge managed to gain a penalty and McGrath duly slotted it over to gain a one point lead.

In the final minutes, Denbigh had a penalty that could have won them the game, however the ball went wide and Bridge clung on to their slender lead for the win at 16-15.
