Minute's Silence for Gags Roberts before Bridge v Holyhead game

This Saturday will be a very special occasion for Menai Bridge Rugby Club not just because it’s our first home game of the 2019-20 season or that it’s also an Island derby fixture against Holyhead (2:30pm kick-off) but because it’s the first home game since the shocking news that club and local legend Gareth ‘Gags’ Roberts had suddenly passed away.

The members of both clubs want to use the occasion to commemorate the life of Gags and the huge positive impact he had on local rugby and the wider community, so please share this post so that as many people as possible can come down on Saturday for a minute’s silence before the game and then the opportunity to shares memories over a drink afterwards in the clubhouse.  Let’s get as many people he played rugby with or against there to reminise about someone who meant so much to so many.

Gags’ funeral is on Monday at 12:00pm at Bangor Crematorium and any donations in memory of Gags will gratefully be accepted to enable Coleg Menai students on the Sports or Public Services Courses to further their studies or pursue a career in this field. Donations can be made to Bryn Jones of Jones Bros., Glanrafon, Benllech, LL74 8UF although the club will be pleased to accept donations on Saturday in memory of Gags and pass these on.
