Menai Bridge 10 - Llangefni II 0

The Anglesey derby was not a spectacle of running rugby. It was a tough match with both defences on top. The first half passed with neither team able to trouble the scorers and with conditions deteriorating due to the wet weather, it was obvious that any scire would swing this one.
Bridge started the second half with more energy than the vistors, however they struggled to break the defensive line. Eventually a defensive kick was fielded by Dan Hughes who took most of the Llangefni defence on and succeeded in getting over the line for the first try of the match. The game then settled back into stalemate until eventually Bridge mangaed to get close to the Llangefni try line through a lot of hard work by the forwards. It was the determined Dan Hughes that converted the pressure into points, scoring in the corner after once again throwing down the gauntlet to the away defence.
The match eneded at 10 nil. A hard earned win ground out.Bridge travel to table topping Caernarfon II next Saturday, for what could be the most significant league game of the season.
