Bro Ffestiniog 11 - Menai Bridge 12

Bish Bash Bosh, Bridge beat Bro. The eagerly anticipated Division 3 North top of the table clash did not disappoint. Bridge travelled to Blaenau looking to avenge the home defeat suffered earlier in the season. Both teams lacked nothing in their committment and although scrappy at times, the match was thoroughly entertaining throughout. Bridge started the stronger and pressurised from the start. They were rewarded by a fine try scored by Mathew Newbiggin. Further pressure from Bridge resulted in a try for the forwards, crashing over after a long period of tryline pressure from the team. Bro stayed in the game and looked dangerous when breaking out of their half. Callum Evans converted a pair of penalties, clawing back the Bridge lead, for a half time score of 6-12. The second half was a reverse of the first half with Bro pressuring Bridge.Bridge's ill discipline did not help their cause, conceeding several penalties which piled the pressure on their defnsive game. It took almost the whole forty minutes for the Bridge defence to breach, when Leon Evans scored a try wide out, bringing the score to 11-12. The crucial conversion that would have swung the game just failed, to the delight of the away team and support and Bro's dissapointment.
