In a very entertaining match Bridge came out on top with 8 tries to Bethesda’s 3.
The early exchanges were even, with Bridge eventually gaining the upper hand. Success came from moving the ball wide, with skipper Dave Williams scoring the opening try and experienced full back Pat Roberts getting the second.
Bethesda rallied and exerted pressure and territorial possession to be rewarded with a close range try from Joe Bumford. The first half closed with a second try for Dave Williams and a 15 to 7 lead for the home side.
Bridge started the second half with a bang. Tries came for Adam Goodwin and Harry Williams soon followed by Logan Jones. A slick period of offloading gave Harry Williams his second try shortly before he departed after a high scoring cameo. Bridge piled on the pressure and Rhys Thomas notched up the 50 mark.
Bethesda still had a part to play and finished the stronger side with tries for Joe Roberts and Tomos Griffiths.
Bridge will face Llanidloes in the cup at home next Saturday, in what should be a cracking match
