On a heavy pitch, Ruthin made good use of their powerful pack and dominated territory and possession. An early converted try for the hosts was followed by a pushover try for the home eight. Bridge managed a rare foray into the opposition’s 22 and were awarded a penalty, which was slotted over by Dion McGrath. The half closed with Bridge camped on their line and Ruthin exerting sustained pressure in search of their third try; Bridge held out and were mighty relieved to hear the half time whistle.
It was more of the same in the second half as Ruthin's dominant scrum proved to be a formidable weapon. Bridge were once again defending furiously. Despite holding off the forward charges, Ruthin found a way in out wide for their third try.
Bridge managed to get in to the home 22 and scrum half Ed Williams nipped over the line, his try converted by McGrath. Bridge managed to maintain their attacking spell and hooker Dafydd John was unlucky to be denied a try, as he was held up over the line.
Ruthin regrouped and pressurised again through their forwards. Finding the direct route door closed, the ball was moved wide and a well executed switch move led to a try from the left wing.
The second half ended with Ruthin once again laying siege to the Bridge try line and the defence holding firm. Ruthin earned a bonus point with a 4 try win and the closing score was 28 -10.
