Bethesda 13 - 20 Menai Bridge

In wet conditions on a heavy pitch, both teams managed to entertain the crowd despite the scrappy nature of much of the game. Bethesda opened the scoring with a penalty from wide out on the touch. Pat Roberts responded in kind setting himself up for his 100% kicking success for the afternoon. Bethesda scored a try wide out following a period of intense pressure in the Bridge 22.  The conversion was missed. Captain Dave Williams led by example and was finding space in midfield with fellow centre Logan Jones. Eventually a clean break was rewarded with a try for Williams, using his years of experience to slide in on a wet pitch for the score. Roberts dully converted. Bridge had their best session of the game following the break and Logan Jones spotted an interception pass, caught it and ran a 60 metre score in. Bridge were getting the upper hand but unfortunately went into an illdisciplined period that let Bethesda back into the game. The home side pressured hard and were eventually rewarded with another try. James Ogwen brought his experienc to the forwards and was a handful against his previous team mates as Bethesda searched for a wiining score. Bridge steadied the ship, gained fiield territory and were able to see the game out for an away win. Plenty to work on for Withers and Mullins as they take the team forward to the Christmas run up.
