Obituary for Alan 'LWI' Lewis kind;y provided by The Oval Zone Magazine who have also circulated an appeal for North Wales clubs to hold a minute's silence before Saturday's games

Very sad news received today as the passing of North Wales Referee, Alan 'LWI' Lewis, is announced.

The North Wales Society of Rugby Union Referees have announced that Alan Lewis, who has battled bravely against cancer recently, has sadly passed away.

Ieuan Williams, Secretary of the NWSRUR, said: 'Today we learnt of the sad passing of our good friend and colleague Alan 'LWI' Lewis after a courageous battle against cancer. We would ask all North Wales clubs to observe a minute's silence as a mark of respect and in memory of Alan before their games this weekend'.

Alan will be sorely missed and we pass on our most sincere condolences to Alan's family and friends.
