To say that this local derby was a tight match would be a huge understatement. The first half brought a solitary penalty for Bridge's Dion McGrath, somewhat against the run of play.

The second half was a similar story. Cefni enjoyed the majority of territory and possession and looked threatening in attack. However they found the Bridge defence difficult to breakdown. Eventually Cefni were rewarded with a try for winger Carwyn Owen, out on the left wing. The conversion was missed but Cefni had edged a lead of five points to three. A penalty from Arwel Roberts extended the lead.

With time running out Bridge managed a rare foray into the Cefni half. Quick thinking Bridge back rower Sam Williams went straight through a ruck got behind the defence and raced to the line for a try that tied the scores at eight all. The final play of the game was a conversion attempt from McGrath. The ball struck the near post and bounced across the face of the sticks to fall short leaving the game tied.
