Match report: Menai Bridge 29 - 7 Pwllheli 2nds

In their final match of the season Bridge secured a bonus point win at home. Pwllheli had put Bridge to the sword a few weeks ago in their home fixture, so the home team were hoping to restore some pride.

Bridge started well and were soon on the scoreboard with a Dion McGrath penalty. Shortly afterwards Pwllheli pressed down the left wing, however the final pass was snapped up by Logan Jones who intercepted and then raced to the posts, outpacing the desperate attempts to catch him. McGrath slotted the conversion for a 10 nil lead. The lead was extended late in the half, when Bridge drove a scrum from 10 metres out and number eight Chris Roberts touched down for a pushover try.

The next score came in similar fashion, where Bridge's dominant scrum won one against the head and Roberts crashed over with the stolen ball.

Bridge's bonus point try came from a move off the scrum. The ball was spread wide and winger Logan Jones topped off an impressive afternoon's work with a try. McGrath converted to extend the lead to 29 - 0.

Pwllheli continued to press, as they had throughout the game, and were determined to grab a consolation score. They were rewarded in the final minutes, when a sustained period of pressure was topped off with a try for Tudur Ellis, converted by Alan Roberts for a closing score of 29 - 7.
