Nant and Bridge went into  this match with a winning league record, so expectations were high for both teams. The match did not disappoint and a thoroughly entertaining game demonstrated the quality in Division 3 North.

Bridge started well and a long range penalty from Dion McGrath gave the visitors a 3-0 lead within 5 minutes of the kick off. Nant responded instantly with a blind side move from the scrum, putting full back Grant Jones in for the score. Bridge then edged ahead with a further McGrath penalty, taking the score to 5-6. Nant enjoyed the lion's share of possession and Bridge defended hard to stay in the game. Pressure eventually told and a slick pass out the back door left the line beckoning for Efan Jones. As the game neared half time Nant profited from a 5 metre scrum as Gwion Jones scored. The bonus point try for Nant came just before half time when Iwan Aled hacked on from a dropped pass. The conversion took the score to 24 - 6 at half time.

With four tries in the bag, Nant looked to attack from both forwards and backs in the second half. Bridge spent most of their time defending and enjoyed very little possession. It was a credit to the visitor's defence that they only conceded two tries in the second half. Both were high quality efforts, the ball moving slickly to Sion Evans who raced through on the left wing. The final try for Nant came when they broke out of defence and Grant Jones finished a slick sequence of passing and support with his second try of the game. With 15 minutes to go, Bridge were looking down the barrel of a gun.  Credit  to their defensive effort, there were no further tries as they manned the defensive barricades. Nant stay top and Bridge will look to regroup,for their next home test against a resurgent Holyhead in the Anglesey derby next week.
